Winter shoes need care
The winter season is fascinating us with a great selection of shoes, insulated boots or lace-up shoes. Whether you buy them in the high season or stock you up on winter sales, you for sure enjoy every stylish piece and hope that winter shoes will survive with you every challenge of the winter day as long as possible.

While the snow brings joy to children or skiers, it makes wrinkles on the faces of those of us, who wear winter boots. Are you already asking why that? Because shoes can get wet in the winter (and that's nothing special!) and especially get dirty from the melting snow. Be honest, the snow in the cities is seldom naturally clean and untouched. There is salt poured on sidewalks and paths, or some a chemical dusting which leaves ugly spots on shoes. If the sodium chloride get on your boots, you are suddenly 5 seconds before your heart attack, and in this point you're desperately looking for a way to remove the stains with as little quality damage as possible. In this case, think - think and act fast!
IMPREGNATE, CREAM, PROTECT!

Nowadays in a good shoe store, in addition to shoes, the saleswoman will also offer you the appropriate care cream, balm or spray for any kind of material. And now hand up, who not always accept this well-intentioned advice on care. Some of us for sure and then we aresurprised, what happend. Winter shoes, like any other shoes, must be impregnated before first use, ie a protective layer must be applied to prevent moisture and other pollutants from penetrating the upper. Impregnation is never 100%, but it can prevent major damage.
If you bought natural leather boots in the hope that "the leather will survive", do not underestimate the torough care of shoes. The shoe may discolor or change shape due to chemical dusting. This is true story, which applies for both - suede or nubuck. Get advice on whether to use a greasy cream or better spray.
WHEN WINTER SHOES NEED FIRST AID
When you find out that your favorite pair of shoes are dirty, every piece of advice is suddenly good. Winter shoes can't be just put in the washing machine and dried - you have to be careful. So remember this - the faster the hit is, the better result will be. The salt penetrates deep into the structure of the shoe skin, so if you cannot remove the spots immediately, use a damp cloth or a wet cloth with a little detergent (shampoo, soap) as a first aid. And if you have a shoe polish on hand, the better!
After returning home, the shoes must be thoroughly cleaned again and let them to dry. When you buy new shoes, make sure that you have material instructions for them, which describe not only the composition but also the method of shoe protection. You never know when you may need it in the winter despair.
