It was year of 1935, when Josef Högl created his first shoes in the Upper Austrian town of Gopperding and founded a company with a subsequent long tradition of shoemaking. The motto "highest quality and perfect wearing comfort" is adhered to. In 1965, due to high demand, the production plant moved to Taufkirchen / Pram. Here, in 1982, Högl became the primary supplier of Lorenz Shoes and joined the Lorenz Shoes Group.

After the fall of the Iron Curtain, in 1992 Högl first expanded to Russia and opened its first store in Moscow. Despite the changes in the company's management, the production of shoes does not change, but what will change is the production plant. In 2003, it moved from Taufkirchen to Martfü, Hungary. Högl shoes are still sold in retail stores along with other brands. It was not until 2011 that the flagship, the independent Högl brand store, arrived. It was finally opened in Vienna. Three years later, Högl has been coming to China. Today, it can be said that the brand is competitive and does not have to be ashamed of German or Italian manufacturers.
