Shoes with character

Canal Grande shoes were born thanks to Valentine Zilliotto and her father Gianni in Venice in 2005. A passion for shoes and experience in the shoe business led them on a journey with a brand which was named after the famous canal for gondolas. Together they created a product that brought the finest quality footwear with soft upper to the Italian market. As the creators of Canal Grande say, more valuable than beautiful shoes are beautiful shoes that have character. They say they put their heart and soul into their sandals, high heel shoes or ballerinas (ah, that Italian theatrics!). They achieve the most beautiful yet natural shades of leather and their softness by tanning the material for a long time during production. In doing so, they use good old Italian production methods. Skilled craftsmen work on heating the leather surface with several layers of transparent wax.
