They acquired their first sewing machine, a Singer 34, in exchange for their father´s gold pocket watch. Initial orientation of Gabor company was clear "shoes for everyone". The company brought new sole processing technologies on the scene that even America had not dared to try. In 1960 Gabor was the first to offer heels with steel heels.
