In 1949 Bernhard and Joachim Gabor founded Gabor company and opened their first shoe factory in Barmstedt near Hamburg. Like all beginnings, their start was also quite challenging. They acquired their first sewing machine, a Singer 34, in exchange for their father´s gold pocket watch. Initial orientation of Gabor company was clear "shoes for everyone". The company brought new sole processing technologies on the scene that even America had not dared to try. In 1960 Gabor was the first to offer heels with steel heels. In short, the production technologies were constantly advancing. Quality, elegance and comfort have ensured that the Gabor brand has become known throughout Europe. Gabor has even had factories in Slovakia since 1996, namely in Bánovce and Liptovský Mikuláš.
